Hi All

So I posted on this tribe back last summer when I took into my head to learn to airbrush body art and do it at Burning Man.... of all the most sensible places to start... fucking playa dust. Needless to say the project was rapidly abandoned as futile with so much dust blowing in my direction every time I even suggested bringing it out. I got so frustrated that when I got back I packed the stuff up and forgot about it..... but now it is spring again and I HAVE to master this project because it's so much time, money and energy already invested into it.

Every time I bring out the airbrush to practice on people there always seems to be a new problem.... I am now an expert in taking apart my airbrush to clean it.... so that's done. Now it is trying to understand what paints to use.... so this is my problem... if anyone has any input I would be most grateful!

I have a Badger dual action airbrush.... the initial paints I used were Badger ones that came with the kit. These worked fine... but they were small containers and ran out. The art store I go to doesn't sell Badger paints but had an abundance of other airbrush paints... assuming these would be fine as they say on the label Createx "airbrush" paints I spent a lot of money on a rainbow of colors. These paints don't come out of my airbrush and clog it up every time I use it. I have tried watering them down but they still don't work. I have tried Kryolan paints which work but they so expensive. Can anyone tell me why the createx paints don't work.....?

Thanks

Zephyr :)

Ya know what? All you guys rock, such great work on the airbrushing body painting, I just have to say that first off! =)

I currently have a decent airbrush and compressor that I use for body painting and crafts that I bought from Kryolan (a theatre makeup store here in SF), and though its ok, I would really like something a bit better. Not only do I do body painting, but I mainly use my airbrush to decorate the costumes I create for various circus troupes.

anyone got any links, suggestions, or tips as to what to look for , what I need, and what to expect price wise?

Also, are there any airbrush books that anyone can recomend, videos or websites would rock out too! Im always looking to make my skills better.
