Hoping someone out there can help me get started. I am in awe of what these guys did at a recent party I went to watching their body airbrushing creations. I thought I want to do that! But have no idea to start ...... I have been looking at kits on the internet and they are pretty $$$ - can anyone give me some starter tips?! Thanks Zeph x

Re: Help a gel out at square one with body airbrushing!
Sun, September 9, 2007 - 6:41 PMIf you spend $$$ on any thing get the best compressor you can. I have a silent air A20 and LOVE IT!
also don't bother with single action air brushes, some kits out there come with them but they ain't worth it. right now I use badgers and a omni .

Wed, September 12, 2007 - 5:40 PMAnd in a pinch, you can rent CO2 cans. Not as renewable, there's the issue of cold hoses, and def. heavier, but muuuuch quieter, and don't require electricity. We've painted 12-20 designs per tank, depending on size.
However much of the airbrushing I participate in is outdoors at festivals, so you may want to go with that quiet A20 (thanks lain). -

Wed, September 12, 2007 - 10:43 PMThe a20 is not cheap but you can some times get a rebuilt one for a lot less. (from silent air) I am working on getting a battery setup so I can do more out side stuff.
I have heard some bad things about using tanks, but have not tried it my self. I was looking at it for a sort of artsy sort of thing, having the tank on my back like a scuba diver, brushes hanging from a vest, that sort of thing.
also, You don't want to run a manifold off of an a20. to get around this I use quick release on the brushes.
